Everyone's busy these days, and fewer of us can justify the time and hassle of ferrying waste to the local tip. Household recycling centres are a useful amenity, but they've grown increasingly fussy about what they will and won't take — and that's before you factor in awkward opening hours, winter closures, and the occasional centre shutting for good.
