Two rules worth remembering once your skip arrives. First, don't overfill it: never load above the wall height, as an over-full skip is both an offence and a genuine hazard on the road. Second, you're responsible for what ends up inside it, so if it's sitting on the street it's worth covering it overnight — opportunists have been known to top up a hired skip with everything from litter to a whole sofa.
